Well said, my friend. I love Pittsburgh and the years I spent there, but upon returning to my hometown, I rediscovered how much more fun and comfortable life is when the grocery store isn't the only place where the rainbow of human existence is evident.

Pittsburgh can and should be a regional, if not national, leader on this issue. There is so much to improve, and so much energy to do it.
You should send that letter to the Post-Gazette and see if they'll publish it on the opinions page.
